Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2012

Christopher Bailey continues to make me a bigger and bigger fan of his work with every season it seems. His Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for Burberry Prorsum was spot on. I loved the wide variety of color, though gray was certainly repetitious, and I just love the perpetual modern silhouette of the Prorsum line. Double-vented suits. Jackets with ticket pockets. Totally British, rakish and always respected.

Given Burberry is the outerwear force to be reckon with, I thought Bailey's attention to every other detail was amazing - everything from the umbrellas to the contrasting colors of the hats, from the bags to the gloves that looked like Louboutin Rollerboy Spike shoes made for one's hands - it was all great. I thought it was refreshing to see stripes added to even the classic outerwear pieces. Hell, even when I didn't like something, it still wreaked of luxury, and in the world of fashion, when you're left with that perception, it's something you rarely debate.
